What Type of Education Do PAs Have?

Physician Assistants (PAs) are trained at graduate schools, earning their Master’s Degree through the medical model with curriculums that mirror physicians. PAs are fully trained and licensed to evaluate, diagnose, treat, prescribe, and educate patients. More information about physician assistants can be found here: www.aapa.org/about/what-is-a-pa/

Can You Become My Primary Care or Gynecology Provider?

No we cannot. You will be required to have had an annual wellness exam within 12 months of your first visit and yearly afterwards. For women starting hormones, regular gynecological exams and yearly mammograms are required. We do not offer routine health screenings and are not available in emergencies.

Do You Prescribe Hormone Therapy?

Yes! This is one of the main focuses of the practice; we prescribe a multitude of FDA approved hormones to include progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, and thyroid medication. We do not inject any hormone pellets.

Can I Be Seen by the Provider in Person or Virtually Through Video?

We are only able to provide medical services to residents of Pennsylvania, either in-person (which is preferred for at least the initial consultation) or virtually by video through our HIPPA compliant secure electronic medical record, Optimantra. To be a patient you will need to be able to sign up and have access to this application.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

For cancellations less than 48 hours in advance, or appointments that are no-showed there will be an additional $50 charged to the credit card on file.

Do You Treat Medicare Eligible Women?

Unfortunately we are not allowed to provide care to women 63 and older or due to other qualifying conditions…for now. We will update the website when this changes, because it will!

Are Your Services Covered by Insurance?

They are not. Insurance plans severely limit the time a practitioner can spend with a patients and sometimes the type of care. This allows our providers to customize a very individualized experience for each patient, free from constraints. Payment is due at scheduling of service. We accept most major credit cards.

Am I Able to Use a FSA or HSA Account to Pay for Services?

Yes, you will be able to use those accounts for clinic visits, lab work, specialty testing (DUTCH test) and supplements. If you do plan on using these accounts, you will also need to keep a major credit card on file as well.

Will Insurance Cover Lab Work Ordered?

Most of the time insurance will cover the cost of labs that are ordered, but this cannot be guaranteed. You can call your insurance company to see if the lab codes are covered. Cash pay options are also available. Specialty testing (like the DUTCH test) will not be covered by insurance but you are able to use your FSA or HSA account.

Will Insurance Cover the Hormone Medications Prescribed?

In most instances your prescriptions will be covered by your insurance. We always prioritize using FDA approved medications, but occasionally will need to consider compounded medications in special circumstances which are not covered and are cash pay. If a prior authorization is needed through your insurance for a specific medication, there may be an additional charge for the time put in by the staff to get it approved.
